Debian pakages
I am using Linux Mandrake 7.2 and I am very happy vvith it. Hovvever, I vvould like to be able to install Debian packages on my system e.g. smartdrive. Is it possible to install dselect alongside rpmdrake and kpackage. I have tried copying dselect from the Corel Linux disk but my system won t
have anything to do vvith it. I vvould appreciate any advice you may have on this.

Ilt is very difficult to migrate a RPM-based system to apt so you may just vvant to reinstall vvith Debian 2.2 and start from a clean system. I imagine running dual package systems is doable, given the time and understanding of hovv apt vvorks, but the time and effort required vvould outvveigh the resulting improvements. Or you could add a Debian-based distribution to your system.
dselect has been replaced vvith apt in nevver distributions of Debian, but as Corel is Debian 2.0 vvith extra bits, they’ve not yet caught up.
